This solo explores how can ancestral memory be activated and what emerges through? How is the fragrance of chai spices a portal to revisit lost heritage? How can we use chakars (spinning) to transcend time?

This improvisational solo was performed in collaboration with sound designer and musician, Holly McMahon. This work is the creative direction and vision of McMahon. Shelter in Place premiered in February of 2025 in the Atlas, B2 space at the University of Colorado, Boulder.
